Yinson and JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration (Malaysia) Limited (“JX Nippon”) has formalised Yinson’s undertaking of the Provision of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Services for FPSO Helang in a signing ceremony recently.
The contract was sign by JX Nippon Managing Director Mr Manubo Doi and Yinson Energy Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Mohamed Sabri Zain in the presence of around 50 invited guests, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
“Embarking on this project feels like a 100km cross-country race. Despite the many challenges, we have stayed on course and we have conquered even the toughest obstacles in our path together. Now, we can proudly say that we are at the final quarter of the race with the finish line as a goal in our sights”, said Mr Manubo in his speech.
Mr Manubo acknowledged that the real voyage of their oil and gas operations now begins with Yinson on board as a reliable partner.
Dato’ Sabri said, “The lesson learned is that perseverance pays for all of us. We owe a lot to our Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Lim Chern Yuan who has stood firm despite the many challenges to see this project through and to the management of JX Nippon for their trust, support and never-ending confidence in our ability to deliver the fruits of our passion.”
Dato’ Sabri also updated guests that conversion works were going well, and that Yinson was confident in delivering the FPSO according to schedule. “We are all about staying true to our mission to passionately deliver powerful solutions and this means staying on schedule.” He said.
FPSO Helang is expected to commence operations at the Layang field in offshore Miri, Sarawak in Q4 this year. The vessel is currently undergoing second stage conversion works at the Cosco Qidang shipyard in China.
